Age of Iron
Overview
The Aeyostan City-States like the Daerlonian Empire to the east, is primarily a hyur populated nation, though each city-state is largely independent, often fighting amongst themselves for power. The only times they really come together for mutual benefit is when the Daerlonian Empire from the east invades, or there are particularly large raids from the nord clans to the north.

In general, the Aeyostans are a very cosmopolitan oriented people, their cities and towns being made of stone with stone roofs. Their cities in particular typically are very methodical in layout, with main thoroughfares reaching the main market, residential, and government districts with ease, though once into the back alleys and side roads that the oder and methodical layout is lost.

The Aeyostan military is virtually non-existant, instead, each city-state fielding their own armies against each other and outside threats.
Capital
City of Athenya
Ptolus is the capital city of the Dieveth Confederacy and has expanded greatly over the years. Originally a small Nord settlement built against the foot of a dead volcano known as the Spire, Ptolus eventually spread towards the Bay of Ptolus from which the city gets its name. Eventually becoming massive metropolis, Ptolus is one of the few cities located in the northlands of Nord occupied territory. Ptolus is located in a fertile river valley on the south-eastern edge of Dievethian territory, which is where much of the country's produce and agriculture is located. Its close proximity to the mountains also makes it a prime trading hub between the Dievethians and the dwarven kingdoms nearby.
Many have immigrated to Ptolus over the years, and the war against the Dark Lord saw Ptolus receive a massive influx of refugees fleeing the war. Ptolus was one of only a few cities to hold against the dark forces, even the Jewel of the South, the City of Damas in Daerlon was mostly destroyed by the dark forces. Ptolus's saving grace was that the city was built on the coast, with a impassable range of mountains to the west, and steep cliffs to the east, forcing the enemy to attack from one direction, rather than surround and lay siege as they normally did. It was at Ptolus that the Dark Lords armies suffered their first major defeat as they were unable to breach the walls of Ptolus, which had been built thick and strong. Eventually forced to retreat, the dark armies were pursued by the Dievethian armies, along with the remnants of the armies of detroyed kingdoms, and were eventually driven from Dievethian territory.
